    Yes - our German food - it doesn't just consist of Wiener Schnitzel and Bratwurst - we already have a lot more to offer! I am a trained chef myself and have worked in gastronomy for almost 20 years - including international cuisine - but mainly German cuisine - through all 16 federal states

    I was in Washington some years ago now, and suffering from the coffee being like gnat's pee, I ended up walking for kilometres to find an ethnic quarter with Italian cafes where I could get a real espresso, the owners of the cafe understood my problem. Later I was speaking with a US policeman outside the White House, he was horrified at what I'd done "but you might have been shot"!
